Kara Junior National Report. Good week for the juniors. Next year it is Grand Island.

Scholarships were discussed. How much to give away and how many? $3500 to be converted to cash without penalty. Balance was $40,755 last year, $30,630 5 years ago. Kris moves to make the scholarship $1,000 per scholarship. Amanda seconded it. Motion passed.

Ed moved we use the 3500 out of the Edward Jones account and $1500 out of the general account and give them all $1000. Devin second. A discussion was had. All applicants are qualified. Motion passed to give all 5 applicants a $1000 scholarship. Devin and Andrea will make certificates for all scholarship applicants to be given at state fair.

Moving on to web site. Morgan is not with us, but fall focus sponsors are on there with logos. The association will give $2500, and members pulled together $7500 with the sponsorships. Need to look at the credit card fees and how to bring them down on the website.

Wayne filled us in on the Fall Focus event coming up. Getting the governor there to welcome everyone. Close to 160 people registered so far.

State Fair - Lonnie will do paperwork, and Kris will help with collecting fees and dues. Adam does not have entries yet. Heifer Xtravaganza is coming along. Maybe 4 entries this year. Need to clarify who can qualify. What about out-of-state members who want to show in-state? Send out a survey, maybe? Table the discussion for later. Joe will bring the booth. The meeting agenda for the state fair meeting was discussed. Selling stall rights for the state fair was discussed. Ask the general membership about opinions on improving the barn. Maybe make it a fundraiser for the juniors for the upcoming junior regionals. Have Kris write up something to get started on getting the ball rolling for selling stalls for a purpose.

Directors and officers were discussed. Amanda will reach out to Carrie Chamberlain, and Barry will reach out to David Vest. We need to remove Bill Graebe officially and fill it. Suggested were Carrie, Josh Whitte, and David Vest. Wayne to be president-elect? A discussion was had. Wayne agrees, with the knowledge that Wayne will term out as President and is downsizing cattle over the next years.

Amanda moved to adjourn the meeting, and Andrea seconded. 9:10 PM
