MSA Board Meeting

January 22, 2025

Talk about a sale manager. Present Barry, Dexter, Amanda, Jeremy, Wayne, Ed, Morgan, and Kara

Bret Naylor - New person. Not a big base yet. Amanda talked about her previous conversation with him in a smaller meeting. Lower commission rate. Wayne reported that he has improved his past sales. Detailed. Wayne recommended we go ahead with Brett. Joe is also in favor with Brett running both sales. Explore looking at moving the sale to Columbia.

Barry - more work for the board if we move to Brett. Jeremy did the catalog, set up hauling, 

Ed wanted to know about no sale fees for the online sale. AMS platform (same as Doug Parke). Minimum fee is $500. 6% commission for the Went Group, and they give 1% back.  Runs 4 State Angus, raised shorthorn. From MO. 

Jeremy is high on commission, everyone would like to try someone else. . Has not transferred the cattle yet. We lose the income on the genetic lots. 

Amanda moved that we move our sale management to Brett Naylor for Spring and Fall for 2025, Dexter second the motion. No discussion. All voting members were in favor.  Amanda agreed to help Barry get everything together to Brett to get the ball rolling. The group agreed a letter sent to Jeremy letting him know his services were no longer needed. Barry will write the letter. 

Discussion came up about moving it to Columbia - Trowbridge. Kris will make a google form to collect data to find more information on the people’s opinion on moving it.
